In Loving Memory of our princess Mocha 01/12/1998-05/1/2009

Our best friend, baby basset, princess of 11 years left us last Friday, May 1st 2009, 6.10pm.
She suddenly stopped eating, and became really weak last week. On Wednesday night, she started crying in pain in the middle of the night.
We took her to the hospital on Friday morning around 10am, the vet told us that Mocha was badly dehydrated. After an X-ray and some blood work done on her, the vet told us that Mocha’s kidney was swollen. Before they could perform any detail check up on her, we needed to get her body hydrated again. The vet told us she was going to inject 2000ml IV fluid into her body, and hopefully she will react to the IV/medication.
We went back to the hospital in the evening, with hope. Hoping Mocha and the vet would bring us some good news. Unfortunately, what we heard from the vet was, Mocha was not responding to the IV/medication. Her condition went down hill and her kidney had shut down. She slowly lost her consciousness, and she was screaming and crying in pain. There was nothing we could do to bring her back. So Teok and I decided to end her misery. We put her down.
That was the toughest decision we have ever made. We love Mocha so much….Our hearts are broken, it wasn’t easy to let her go.
Mocha Valentine, but we always referred this whinny, pampered basset as “princess mocha”. I still remember the day we picked her up at the barn back in 1998. The memory is still “fresh”. But she’s gone. We all know she’s in a better place now, with no more pain, no more “No, Mocha!!” from us. She has joined her brother Maxx Valentine (01/12/1998-04/29/2009)

Mocha, our little princess, RIP. You’ll be living in our memories.
